The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Knowlton can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Joe Marino

Every once in a while someone enters your life that has a profound impact on yours. As a young couple in 1978, my wife and I had the good fortune to purchase a house next to Richard “Dick” Knowlton and his wife, Norma. Through the next 20 years, we were neighbors, Mr. Knowlton became a surrogate “Uncle” to our family. Any time we had a small problem, whether it be electrical, plumbing or whatever, he was always there to fix it. As our family grew, Mr. Knowlton watched as our boys grew. Never a day went by when some type of ball found its way into his backyard. Never a cross word, always with a smile, he watched our sons grow. He taught me what it meant to be a good neighbor a good friend and most important a better person. Thank you Mr. Knowlton. We will miss you but never forget you.
