Dave was the best example of the "Greatest Generation". Dave was not just a pillar of the community, he and other like him actually steered our town on a consistently sound and decent course consistent with his own values. His lifetime of contributions are far too many to list. I remember him as superintendent of my Sunday school (55 years ago). I remember the stories he would read, I even remember his fencing foil tie clip, I thought it was cool. He made our community a safe and secure place to grow up. He will not only be missed, he is irreplaceable.
