Judith Ann (Parmelee) Tapscott

Geneva; Judith Ann (Parmelee)Tapscott 76, of Geneva passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 7, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

There will be no prior calling hours. Private funeral services will be held on Monday (Jan.12) at 10:00 a.m. at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. The Rev. Thomas P. Mull will officiate. Burial will be in Oak lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Thrive to Survive – a nonprofit charitable organization providing support to adults living in Geneva who have been diagnosed with cancer. PO Box 1146 Geneva, NY 14456. Online @ www.thrivetosurvive.org, or to Ontario- Yates Hospice.

Judy was born December 12, 1938 in Geneva, the daughter of the late Clifford and Margaret Carney Parmelee. She married Harold (Bill) Tapscott on January 28, 1957 and together raised five children. Judy was deeply devoted to her family and will always be remembered for her kindness, strength and sense of humor. Some of her fondest times were those she spent with her sister in law and best friend, Beverly Edwards. Together they enjoyed many excursions including shopping, attending yard sales and dining out.

She is survived by five children; Bill (Carol) Tapscott, Tim (Eve) Tapscott, Debbie (Chris) Carlson, Trisha (Pat) Lyons and Rob (Kristen Toby) Tapscott. Fourteen grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother; Gary (Ellen) Parmelee of Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband Harold ( Bill ) Tapscott, brothers; Clifford “Bud” Parmelee, Earl Parmelee and Gail Parmelee; sister, Margaret Marino.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Tracy Sloth Munzer for the wonderful care she provided to Judy over the past several months.
