Obituary for Caroline M. Brown ( Gramma Brown)

Caroline M. Brown ( Gramma Brown)
Caroline M. Brown

GENEVA-Caroline M. Brown (Gramma Brown) of Geneva passed away at her home on Sunday February 5th, 2017.

Caroline was born in Geneva to the late George and Caroline (Rogers) McGuire on February 3, 1943.
In 1961 she graduated from DeSales High School and moved to Rochester. She then went on to Continental Beauty School and received her Cosmetology License. This is where she met the love of her life-Lucky. Caroline married Ronald (Lucky) Brown on October 3rd, 1964 and had 52 wonderful years together.
Caroline worked for the Geneva School district from 1972-2005. She loved her job and the interactions with so many talented students. Throughout her career she worked in the elementary school then transferred to the high school where she earned the Supporter of the Year Award, and the W-FL Boces F.S.D. Gene Langan Memorial Award. Caroline found enthusiasm, pleasure from the students. She enjoyed assisting with the costumes for the Geneva High School plays and textile classes. They said she suggested many creative ideas that helped the home economics department. There were so many memorable days at the Brown’s house from Brownie Girl Scout meetings to designing and creating the best homecoming floats and no one can forget her heavenly grape pies for the OQ bake sales. Caroline had many hobbies but her passion was sewing, from quilts to teddy bears, she enjoyed giving homemade presents to her family and friends. Most recently she volunteered at the Presbyterian Church and taught her life-long passion-sewing. Caroline’s most valuable treasures were her grand-boys. She enjoyed helping them with their school project, making them the BEST-EVER Halloween costumes, and baking–ok, let’s be honest really just creating a mess with the kids. She was the happiest when she had two to three different projects laid out on the kitchen table. Grammie Brown was her name to all the grandkids friends. She had that knack of always making the kids feel special, sending those special treats. Caroline is lovingly remembered by her family as the most loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Caroline leaves behind her devoted husband Ronald Brown; daughter, Lynne Poirier (David Poirier) from Springfield Virginia, her son Ron Brown (MaryJo Brown) from Scottsville, NY.
Her cherished grandsons: Andy, Ryan, Tyler Poirier and Aaron Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours or services.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Yates County Humane Society.
The family of Caroline Brown wishes to thank the nurses at 2 West Wing (ICU) at Geneva General Hospital.
