Harry J. Touhey

GENEVA- Harry J. Touhey, age 82 of Geneva passed on Saturday January 21, 2017 at home.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday (February 1) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis-St. Stephen School Education Fund.

Harry was born in Geneva on August 10, 1934 the son of the late Harry M. and Margaret Toole Touhey. He attended the College of the Holy Cross and began working for his father at Harry M. Touhey & Associates which was located on Exchange Street. The agency grew over the years and in 1955 the business moved into a newly constructed building on Castle Street, named the Touhey Building. Harry took over the insurance agency in 1975 from his father and ran the business until his retirement.

Harry was a devoted parishioner and supporter of St. Francis deSales Church and is survived by 8 nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Harry M. Touhey; his mother, Margaret Toole Touhey and his sister, Margaret “Peggy” Roder.
