Geneva; Rita M. Cassidy, age 97 of Geneva passed away on Monday March 30, 2015 at the Living Center at Geneva North.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday (March 31) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (April 1) with prayers at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. in St. Francis deSales Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice

Rita was born on January 25, 1918 in Geneva the daughter of the late Grover and Mary Howe Humphrey. She retired after 20 years from Geneva General Hospital. Rita was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Francis deSales Church.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Geary of Geneva; granddaughters, Amy (Gina Piri) Castelluzzo of City Island Bronx and Laura Jean Castelluzzo of Buffalo; great-granddaughter, RiRi’s little dolly girl Cassidy Rose; sister, Elizabeth Egbert of Geneva; several nieces and nephews;

She was predeceased by her husband William Cassidy; brother, Raymond Humphrey; sisters, Mary Reynolds, Catherine Treeter; special friend, Scorchy Passalacqua.
