Our Heritage

The McGuigan Funeral Home was founded in 1947 by Frank and Joan McGuigan in their home at 45 High St. in Geneva. The house was remodeled with the funeral home on the first floor and the residence on the second floor, where they raised their four children, Ed, Sharon, Lou and Don. The McGuigan name became very well known in the funeral business. Frank was highly respected through out the area for his skills and passion for the business. They both devoted all their time to their family and the family's they served. The kitchen table upstairs was always full either people up stairs for coffee or Joan having lunch for all the family everyday. Every loved one who passed away and their family's were always treated just like family and made to feel at home when in our home. In November of 1984 Frank passed away and Joan continued the business until her passing away in April of 1986. In 1986 Don McGuigan and Lorrie Bero-McGuigan took over the business and continued the tradition of a family owned and operated funeral home. In 1987 a major expansion was completed on the funeral home. The original house was connected to the house next door making one large and modern funeral home with a parking lot in the back.

In December of 2010 just the name of the funeral home was changed to McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home to reflect the names of both of the Owners/Funeral Directors and the commitment we have to the entire community.
