GENEVA- Magdalena Lopez, 75 of Geneva passed away on Tuesday August 8, 2017 at Geneva General Hospital.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday (August 13) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday (August 14) at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Magdalena was born on October 15, 1941 in Yauco Puerto Rico the daughter of the late Andres and Leonor Velez Morales. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved gardening, sewing and crafts.

Magdalena was a member of St. Francis deSales Church and for many years was an Parking Enforcement Officer for the Geneva City Police Department.

She is survived by her children, Arlene Lopez of Tennessee, Ricky (Lisa) Lopez of Louisiana, Evelyn (Jeff) Godkin of Geneva, Teofilo (Nina) Lopez, Jr. of Texas, Betsy (Joe) Lopez-Hatfield of Geneva, Marilyn Lopez of Geneva; 10 grandchildren, Alfredo, Nitza, Abraham, Amanda, Nastazzia, Joshua, Shaune, Jamie, Josiah, John, Jr.; 3 great-grandchildren, Marialena, Maylani, Jomani; sisters & brothers, Vivian Vicente, Melania Acevedo, Vilma Morales, Marvin Morales, Habeal Morales; several nieces and nephews.

Magdalena was predeceased by her parents; great-grandson, Miles Michael Kirk; brothers, Andrecito, Noel and Ivan Morales; sister, Erania (Jero) Azzerone.
