Edward Hershey

GENEVA/CLIFTON SPRINGS; Edward Hershey, age 86 of Clifton Springs passed away on Wednesday November 2, 2016 at the House of John in Clifton Springs.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 5) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Jon Coykendall of the Alliance Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.

Edward was born on February 4, 1930 in Geneva the son of the late Ora and Ethel Millerd Hershey. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1947 and retired in 1990 after 37 years from New York State Electric & Gas.

Ed was a life member of the Hydrant Hose Company of the Geneva Fire Department and was an avid Bowler and Golfer who enjoyed winters in Myrtle Beach.


Ed is survived by his wife of 57 years Olivia Hansen Hershey; Sister, Barbara Gunio of Hopewell; nieces, Kim Gunio of Hopewell, Jennifer (Kirk) Pulver of Middlesex; nephew, Charles Gunio of Hopewell; many additional nieces, nephews and cousins; brother-in-law’s; Paul (Fran) Hansen of Templeton, CA, Byron Hansen of Kingman, AZ; sister-in-law’s; Loretta (George) Patchett of Penn Yan, Glenda (Roger) Jackson of Rochester.

Ed was predeceased by his brother-in-law’s, Frederick Gunio, Hans Hansen, Bruce Hansen.
