GENEVA; James C. Dildine, age 97 of Geneva passed away on Thursday November 3, 2016 at the Penn Yan Manor in Penn Yan.

There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral Services will be held on Monday (Nov 7) at 11:00 a.m. at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St., Geneva. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to; First Baptist Church 134 N. Main St. Geneva, NY 14456 or Penn Yan Manor Activities Fund 655 N. Liberty St. Penn Yan, NY 14527.

James was born on December 7, 1918 in Buffalo the son of the late Jesse and Pearl Clark Dildine. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1937 and attended Paul Smith School of Forestry. James served overseas in the US Army Company 324th Engineer Battalion during WWII. He retired after 38 years, in 1984 from New York State Gas & Electric.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, The Quarter Century Club and was a former member of the Masons. James was an avid reader and loved Tennis, Bowling and Golf.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda (Eugene) Olmstead of Geneva; grandchildren, Christina (B.F.) Saxby of Bloomfield, Lauren (Steve) Komp of Clifton Park, Carlene (Frank) Yunits of Geneva, Amanda Valerio of Cohoes; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jenna and Vinnie Jacobs, Ryan and Matthew Komp, Frank III, Christopher, Catelynn and Lucas Yunits; great-great- grandchildren, Bentley James and Marylynn Jacobs.

James was predeceased by his wife Marion, daughter, Marilyn Cosentino & son-in-law, Carl Cosentino; grandson-in-law, Josh Valerio; sisters, Laura Dildine, Jessie Scott, Helen Hines.
