Obituary for Roland J. Harrison

Roland J.  Harrison
GENEVA; Roland J. Harrison, age 92 of Geneva passed away on Tuesday November 1, 2016 at the Geneva Living Center South.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 4) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St., Geneva. Members of the C.J. Folger Hook & ladder will meet at the funeral home prior to the service. Funeral services will follow calling hours at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Phil Tennies will officiate. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to; United Church of Fayette 192 Ovid St. Box 130 Seneca Falls, NY 13148.

Roland was born on March 9, 1924 in Stanley the son of the late Frank and Anna Yonk Harrison. He was a life time resident of Geneva and was a crane operator and truck driver in construction for many years. Roland also was a truck driver for the M.R.I Cat Scan Unit driving from hospital to hospital to aid the sick.

Roland was a life member of the C.J. Folger Hook & Ladder Company of the Geneva Fire Department being a member for over 74 years and the oldest and longest serving member. Member of the International Union of Operating Engineers and life member of the Fayette Fire Department. Roland has always been outstanding in his dedication to help and serve others in their time of need.

He is survived by Toni Hunt of Syracuse; Dorothy Coffin of Waterloo; Roger W. Barto of Seneca Falls; step-daughter, Shar (Ernie) Wyatt of Victor; Grandson, Christopher Wyatt of Clifton Springs; granddaughter, Crystal Barto of Fayette; great-granddaughter, Phoenix Barto of Fayette; nephews, Bruce Harrison of Seattle, WA, John Harrison of Geneva; Special friend, Robin Labour of Waterloo.

Roland was predeceased by his brothers, Volney Harrison and Orion Harrison.
