Margaret K. Gleason
Geneva; Margaret K. Gleason formerly of Geneva passed away on Sunday October 25, 2015 at The Homestead in Penn Yan.
Family and friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday (Nov.23) at the First United Methodist Church 340 Main St. in Geneva. A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Cushman Chapel of the church. The Rev. Jeff Childs will officiate. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church 340 Main St. Geneva, NY 14456, Finger Lakes Health Foundation 196 North St. Geneva, NY 14456 for use at The Homestead, American Heart Association PO Box 3049 Syracuse, NY 13220 or a charity of choice.

Margaret was born in Rockville, CT the daughter of the late Max M. and Anna Puff Kabrick. She was the youngest of 10 children and graduated Rockville High School class of 1931. Margaret was a Telephone Operator before marrying and moving to Geneva in 1936 and worked for Rogers Insurance Co. After raising her family she went back to work and retired after many years from the Seven Lakes Girl Scout Council.

She was a 65 year member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ruth Circle and sang in the Choir. Associate member of the Canandaigua First United Methodist Church since 2004. Geneva Woman’s Club, Geneva Historical Society, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. In 1993 Margaret was recognized by the Geneva Regional Health System for 1000 hours of Volunteer Service and in 1999 the Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary named her the “Auxilian of the Year”. Margaret and her husband Joe were active in the Geneva Elks Lodge, NARFE Chapter 1620 and Finger Lakes Council Scouting Program. They loved to travel as a couple and chaperoned Girl Scout bus trips to the Rocky Mountains and the Smokey Mountains.

She is survived by her sons; Robert J. (Mary W.) Gleason of Canandaigua, John C. (Teresa K.) Gleason of Penn Yan; grandchildren, Robert J. Gleason, Jr. of Canandaigua, Michael (Rachel) Gleason of Canandaigua, Jeffrey (Kimberley) Gleason of Winthrop, ME, Kathleen (Brandon) Moser of East Kingston, NH, Stephanie (Brian) Koomen of Harrisburg, NC, David J. (Jessica) Gleason of Cape Coral, FL, Nicole Gleason of Penn Yan, Allie Gleason of Penn Yan; great-grandchildren, Xander Gleason of Canandaigua, Charlotte and Josie Gleason of Maine, Joseph Koomen of Florida, Jacob and Sydney Koomen of North Carolina, Mitchell and Kaybrick Gleason of Florida; one nephew and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Joseph C. Gleason in 1984; a grandson in 1975; 2 brothers and 7 sisters; several nieces and nephews.
