Obituary for Dennis R. Peters

Dennis R. Peters

Geneva; Dennis R. Peters, age 63 of Geneva passed away on Friday April 3, 2015 due to complications of the flu.

There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (April 8) at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or a local VA Hospital.

Dennis was born on October 18, 1951 in Canandaigua the son of Robert L. and Mary Ann Doody Peters. He graduated from St. Stephen’s School and DeSales High School. Dennis enlisted in the US Navy in 1971 and served on the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War. He received several medals and commendations including the Gallantry Cross W/Palm. Dennis had worked at several restaurants in Ohio, Florida and New York including the Bellhurst in Geneva.
He was a member of St. Stephen’s Church, Canandaigua V.F.W. and was an avid Buffalo Bills, NY Yankees and PGA Golf Fan.

He is survived by his children, Dennis A.(Traci) Peters of Lyons, Dennis R. Peters of Phelps, Sarah Peters and Madalyne Peters both of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Aidan, Aiyana, Lacey, Patrick, Cierra, Grayson and Matthew (Cassie); great-grandchildren, Carina, Hailey, Tatiana, Thomas and Daymeon; parents, Robert L. and Mary Ann Peters of Geneva; brothers and sisters, Michael (Mary Jo) Peters of Punta Gorda Isles, FL, John (Joan) Peters of Geneva, Teresa (Anthony) Cupelli of Geneva, Kathleen Doody of Rochester, Marianne (Bruce) Williamson of Charlottsville, VA/Rochester, Timothy Peters of Geneva, Margaret Peters of Geneva, Matthew Peters of Geneva, Mary Doris (Steve) Diehl of Pittsford; many nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
