Geneva; Jean Belz (Dwyer) Ruddy, age 85 of Geneva passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 15, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at her home.

Family and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 19 ) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will be held on Monday (Oct. 20 ) at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Thomas P. Mull will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (The Jimmy Fund).

Jean was born on October 15, 1929 in Geneva the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred Greenwald Belz. Jean was a life resident of Geneva and retired after over 25 years from Geneva General Hospital.
She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxillary of Geneva. Jean enjoyed Crocheting, flower Gardening, loved spending time with her family and was an avid Red Sox Fan.

She is survived by her children, William (Vivian) Dwyer of Seneca Castle, Barbara Wirth of Geneva and Lisa Bennett of Lyons; grandchildren, Caitlin, Jason and Amanda Wirth, Christopher (Heather) Kerr, Charles and Carly Bennett; step-grandchildren, Marcella Burkard, Andrea Henry, Bryanna Houser; great-grandchild, Lily Kerr; step-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jillian and Timothy Henry; several nieces and nephews.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Joseph Ruddy; brother, Joseph Belz; sisters, Eleanor Elliot and Barbara Kane.
