Tim was born on August 27, 1958 in Clifton Springs, the son of Robert L. and Mary Ann Doody Peters. He was a graduate of the 1976 class at DeSales High School and Finger Lakes Community College. Tim worked for the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer for many years. He then started and was co-owner of Gallagher’s Irish Pub for the last 28 years. He was also a well-known caterer throughout the area, owning and operating TJ’s Catering, and he was constantly booked for parties. Tim worked for two generations and was thought of as the right-hand man at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home.

He was a lifelong member of St. Stephen’s Church, a life member of the Nester Hose Company of the Geneva Fire Department, member of Geneva Council #272 Knights of Columbus, Bishop John E. McCafferty Assembly 4th Degree of Knights of Columbus, and member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians. Tim was also Notre Dame’s most devoted fan and cherished his yearly trips to Vegas with friends.

To say Tim was generous is an understatement. He would give you the shirt off his back. He helped strangers and friends alike, from coming to the aid of the homeless to lending support to his vast circle of dear friends. If someone needed something, Tim was the first one there. He was a true champion of the underdog.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Peters of Geneva; brothers and sisters, Michael (Mary Jo) Peters of Punta Gorda Isles, FL, John (Joan) Peters of Geneva, Teresa (Anthony) Cupelli of Geneva, Kathleen Doody of Rochester, Marianne (Bruce) Williamson of Charlottesville, VA/Rochester, Margaret Peters of Geneva, Matthew Peters of Geneva and Mary Doris (Steve) Diehl of Pittsford; 23 nieces and nephews; 35 great-nieces and nephews; 6 great-great-nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Alice Appleton, Ruth Peters, John and Norma Doody, Shirley and Ben D’Arduini, Betty and Gary Pappert; numerous cousins, faithful cooking crew and friends.

Tim was predeceased by his father, Robert L. Peters; brother, Dennis R. Peters; grandparents, Arthur and Doris Doody, Leonard and Olga Peters; beloved dogs, Gallagher, Annika, Gilda and Sambuca.
