Obituary for James A. Vogt

James A.  Vogt
GENEVA- James A. Vogt, age 71 died suddenly Wednesday May 3, 2017 at Geneva General Hospital.

At Jim’s request, there will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services will be planned and held at the convenience of the family.

Jim was born in Geneva on October 24, 1945 to the late Donald A. and Thelma Sweeney Vogt. He was a 1963 graduate of Geneva High School and served 4 years in the Army Signal Corp. on Okinawa.

Jim was employed at Don A. Vogt Welding, Slattery's Old Seneca Ale House and owned Geneva Seafood & Fish Co. He was a life member of Nester Hose Company of the Geneva Fire Department and The American Legion Winnek Post #396.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Nancy Scutt Vogt; daughter, Stephanie A. Vogt of Buffalo; brothers in law, Robert Denison and Jim (Lisa) Scutt; sisters in law, Freddi (Sam Smock) Scutt all of Geneva and Barbara Scutt of Riverside, CA; nieces & nephews; Donna (Mike) Borrelli, Dale (Elaine) Denison, Mike (Meg) Scutt, Chelsea (Jon) Millis and Krista Scutt; several great nieces, nephews and cousins; Boston Terrier, Quinn Ann.

Jim was predeceased by his sister Nancy Vogt Denison; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Marie Scutt; brother in law William J. Scutt.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Nester Hose Company 207 Genesee St. Geneva, NY 14456 or to a charity of choice.
