GENEVA- Patricia A. Fitzsimmons, age 79 of Geneva passed away on Monday March 6, 2017 at the Geneva Living Center North surrounded by her family.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (March 9) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will be held on Friday (March 10) with prayers at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Patricks Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Parish 130 Exchange St. Geneva, NY 14456.

Patricia was born on February 26, 1938 in Geneva the daughter of the late Joseph and Edith Willis Brill. She was a graduate of Geneva High School class of 1956 and married John Fitzsimmons in 1958. Patricia was a long-time employee of the Geneva City School District doing secretarial duties for the Superintendent, Guidance Office, Food Service and the High School Library.

She was an active member of St. Stephen’s Church and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Patricia is survived by her son, John Richard (Bernie) Fitzsimmons of Pittsford; daughters, Julie Evangelista of Geneva and Carol (Len) Pimm of Tonawanda; grandchildren, Brian (Lisa Terrana) Pimm, Kelly (Matt) Andrus and Daniel Pimm, David, Matthew, Kathryn and Christina Evangelista; great-grandchildren, Samantha and David, Jr. Evangelista, Olivia Pimm, Owen and Kara Andrus; brother, Joseph (Debbie) Brill of California; sister, Rosemary Jacobson of Iowa; several nieces and nephews.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband John Francis Fitzsimmons.
