GENEVA- Cosmo F. Iannopollo Sr., age 93 of Geneva passed away on Friday December 23, 2016 at Geneva General Hospital.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 27) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Thomas P. Mull will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Cosmo was born on February 8, 1923 in Geneva the son of the late Joseph and Rose Fidele Iannopollo. He served in the US Army during WWII and retired after many years as a self-employed Contractor.
Cosmo was a member of St. Francis deSales Roman Catholic Church and was an avid golfer and member of the Seneca Lake Country Club.
He is survived by his wife Murel; children, Terry Soccio of Geneva, Joseph (Roxanne) Iannopollo of Stanley, Toni Iannopollo of Waterloo, Cosmo (Yolanda) Iannopollo, Jr. of Border City and David (Norma Ryan) Iannopollo of Syracuse; grandchildren, William, Joseph, Steven, Cosmo, III and Andrea; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Cosmo was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Theresa; brothers, Dominick, Angelo, John and Paul.
