Violet N. Grapensteter

GENEVA- Violet N. Grapensteter, age 87 of Geneva passed away on Sunday October 23, 2016 at the Huntington Living Center.

There will be no prior calling hours. Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday (Oct. 28) at 11:00 a.m. in Grove Place Cemetery 2775 Chili Ave. Rochester, NY 14624. Rev. Dr. Deborah Lind-Schmitz will officiate.

Violet was born on June 6, 1929 in Gates the daughter of the late Donald and Pearl Caudel Nichols. She retired after many years from the Art Department at Hobart & William Smith Colleges.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Geneva, former member of the Geneva Country Club. Violet loved traveling and camping with her husband and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Ellen (Joe Zilvinskis) Grapensteter of Tully, Reed (Marta) Grapensteter of Bothell, WA and Joy (John) Thompson of Purcellville, VA; grandchildren, John Zilvinskis, Jenna Grapensteter, Kayla Grapensteter, Danta Thompson and Jessamy Thompson; 4 sisters; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Violet was predeceased by her husband, Donald L. Grapensteter and 1 sister.
