GENEVA – AlaDean J. Zello, age 93 formerly of 99 Lewis St. passed away on Monday October 17, 2016 at the Geneva Living Center North.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 21) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Oct. 22) at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Dale Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in Ovid Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter 50 E. River St. Waterloo, NY 13165 or charity of one’s choice.

AlaDean was born on June 18, 1923 in Seneca Falls the daughter of the late Daniel and Effie (Kinne) Stahlnecker. She had worked throughout the area and retired after many years from the Seneca Army Depot. AlaDean was a member of the Finger Lakes Women of Moose #41 for 50 years, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary in Phelps and a life member of North Seneca Sportsmen’s Club.

AlaDean was very well known as the Avon Lady for 50 plus years. She loved playing cards especially Euchre, Canasta and Skip Bo and enjoyed Bingo.

She is survived by her children, Josephine Pollino of Phelps, Gloria (John) Chilson of Florida, Joseph Zello, Jr. of Ionia, John (Kim) Zello of Waterloo and Dolly (Paul) Bates of Waterloo; son-in-law, Paul Hussey of Waterloo; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

AlaDean was predeceased by her husband, Joseph L. Zello, Sr.; daughter, Ellen “Shorty” Hussey; son-in-law, John Pollino; daughter-in-law, Sue Zello; sister, Ellen Barto; brothers, Romayne, Melvin, Edward and George Stahlnecker.
