GENEVA- Phyllis C. “Lupie” Madia, of Geneva passed away peacefully on Monday June 20, 2016 with her loving family by her side at Geneva General Hospital.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday (June 23) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to; Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 1200 Scottsville Rd. Rochester, NY 14624 or Juvenile Arthritis Foundation 3300 Monroe Ave. Ste 319 Rochester, NY 14618.

Phyllis was born on November 27 in Geneva, the daughter of the late Carmelo Charles and Angelina Rizzo Gringeri. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. Lupie worked alongside her husband Frank for many years at their family owned business, Madia’s Big M.

She is survived by two sons, Richard (Michelle) Madia of Geneva, Francis (Dafna) Madia, III of Paradise Valley, Arizona; two daughters, Mary Lou McDonald of Santa Ana, CA., Chris (Frank) Dinan of Geneva; 16 grandchildren, Katie , Mark , Lindsey , Maureen, Jenny, Chelsey, Eric, Audrey, Anthony, Jeanine, Nicholas, Max, Maddie, Ross, Mary, Jillian; three great-grandchildren; Ina, Charley and Adelaide; sister, Mary (Jack) Finnerty; brother-in-law, Joseph (Shirley) Madia; several nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Francis R. Madia, Jr.; two sons, Edward J. Madia, Bernard C. Madia; a brother, Anthony Gringeri and sister, Catherine Cardinale.
