Geneva; Anne H. Walsh, age 86 of Geneva passed away on Wednesday April 15, 2015 at home surrounded by her family.

There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (April 18) with prayers at 10:00 a.m. at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum.

Anne was born on April 30, 1928 in Geneva the daughter of the late William and Pearl Karcher Holleran. She graduated from DeSales High School and D’Youville College in Buffalo with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Early in her career Anne was an OR Nurse at Millerd Fillmore Hospital and Geneva General Hospital. After raising her family she returned to work and retired as a Nurse Supervisor at the Geneva Living Center South.

Anne was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a prior Director of the Religious Ed Program. Throughout her life Anne volunteered for several organizations including the Geneva Community Lunch Program and the Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Mary Beth (Tim) Brendel of Victor, Sally (Robert) Manion of Geneva, Carol (William) Tapscott of Geneva and Paul J. (Michelle) Walsh of Henrietta; 13 grandchildren, Patrick (Meghan), Don and Eric Graham, Bo (Molly), John, Brian and Courtney Manion, Kevin and Andrew Shamy, Joe (Ashley) and Christopher Tapscott, John and Lindsey Walsh; 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia and Tripp Tapscott and Lyla Graham; sisters- in-law and brother-in-law, Jeanette Holleran, Betty and Carlton Naegele, Rita Walsh and June Jones; many nieces and nephews.

Anne was predeceased by her husband, John P. Walsh; brother, William Holleran; son-in-law, Donald Graham.

The family would like to thank Dr. William Platzer for the wonderful care he provided throughout the years. They are also grateful for the support received from Ontario – Yates Hospice.
