Obituary for Dorothy A. Allen


Geneva; Dorothy A. Allen, age 92 of Reed St. passed away on Monday November 3, 2014 peacefully at home.


Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday (Nov. 7) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. W. James Gerling will officiate.
Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ontario-Yates Hospice 756 Pre Emption Rd. Geneva, NY 14456.

Dorothy was born on August 10, 1922 in Williamsport, PA the daughter of the late Hovey and Ann Klemm Benedict. Dorothy worked for many years at the Seneca Army Depot, where she first met her husband, Kenneth. She also had worked at Gerry’s Jewelry and in 1954 when her daughter was born she became a stay at home mom and devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Geneva, Seneca Travelers Camping Club. Dorothy enjoyed belonging to a small Ceramics Club and doing Arts & Crafts.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth; son, Mark (Theresa) Allen of Seneca Falls; grandchildren, Kenna Liseno, Andrea Minnier and Megan Allen; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Cole, Kasey, Kalieb, Lucien and Greason; several nieces and nephews

Dorothy was predeceased besides her parents by her daughter, Donna Allen; brothers, Merle, Hovey and Earl Benedict.
