Doris B. Angell

Geneva; Doris Buckingham Angell, age 87 of Geneva passed away peacefully at Geneva General Hospital on Sunday, June 15, 2014.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, July 19th at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Geneva. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am in the Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum.

Contributions may be made in her name to the West Lake Road Fire Association or to the First Baptist Church of Geneva Saturday Lunch Program.

Doris was born in Croghan, NY on May 8, 1927 to Arthur and Bernice Bush Buckingham. She graduated from Father Leo Memorial High School and the Watertown School of Commerce. She lived in Watertown until June 1950 when she married David Angell and moved to Geneva.

Doris was employed at the New York State Department of Health for three years and then as an Administrative Assistant at Hobart College Admissions office for 26 years where she retired from in 1992.

Doris was a member of Big Oak Golf Club, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a charter member of the West Lake Road Fire Association Auxiliary. She was also a member of St. Stephen’s Church and Senior Citizen’s Club. Of her many hobbies and interests, golfing and gardening were her favorites.

Doris is survived by three sons; Terry of China, Robert of Georgia and William (Deborah) of Texas; one daughter, Nancy (William) Robbins of Geneva; five grandchildren James, Jennifer and Callianne Robbins, Matthew and Lucas Angell; two brothers Arthur (Carolyn) Buckingham of Baltimore, MD, Francis (Barbara) Buckingham of Brantingham, NY; many cousins, nieces, nephews and her beloved cat, Toby. She was predeceased by her husband, David Angell; brother Zane Buckingham; sisters, Toby Proulx and Nancy Dosztan.
