Obituary for Joyce DeBolt Nolan

Joyce DeBolt Nolan
Joyce A. (DeBolt) Nolan

Waterloo; Joyce A. (DeBolt) Nolan, age 72, made her journey to heaven November 10, 2013, surrounded by her loving family in Prescott, AZ.

There will be a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday November 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church in Geneva with Rev. Thomas Mull officiating.
Burial was in Prescott National Cemetery, Prescott, AZ November 16 following a Celebration of Life Service.

Joyce was born March 24, 1941 in Penn Yan to the late Kenneth F. and Mary E. DeBolt. She was a 1958 graduate of DeSales High School. In 1994 she retired from Verizon after 47 years of service. After retiring she began a job that she felt she was born to do: the 911 Data Collector for Seneca County, from which she retired in 2012 when she fulfilled her “bucket list” wish and moved to Prescott, AZ to be with her children. Joyce loved the Lord, lived for her family, and was a generous friend and a stranger to none. She especially enjoyed the Yankees, all sports and casino trips (sisters’ days). Joyce will be dearly missed by her family who describes her as a rock. She was grace; she gave her all for her family, and she meant everything to them.

Joyce is survived by her daughters Katherine (Richard) Melendez of Phoenix, AZ, Deb Nolan of Phoenix, AZ, Tracey (Dwight) Peters of Prescott, AZ and son Jeffrey (Oggie) Nolan of Tempe, AZ.; Sister, Janice (Ed) McGuigan of Geneva; brothers, Ralph DeBolt of Geneva and Gary (Gwen) DeBolt of Hudson Falls, NY; her life sister, Janet DeBolt of Waterloo; several nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren who were the light of her life, as well as her grand-dog, Jeter, who was always by her side.
Besides her parents, Joyce was pre-deceased by her brother Carl “Butch” DeBolt and her husband of 53 years, John F. Nolan
