Geneva; Gregory M “Greg” Hogan, P.E. 56, of Castle St. passed away unexpectedly on Friday September 27, 2013 in Strong Memorial Hospital.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 2) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (Oct 3) with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Emily Hogan Education Fund at The Bank Of The Finger Lakes Attn Rob Sollenne 389 Hamilton St. Geneva, NY 14456

Greg was born on May 25, 1957 in Geneva the son of the late Frank and Margaret Donahue Hogan. He graduated from DeSales High School in 1975 and Rochester Institute of Technology in 1981 with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and became a NYS Licensed Professional Engineer in 1985. Greg started at Goulds Pumps as a co-op student from R.I.T and then became a Design Engineer then a Manufacturing Engineer and most recently Product Manager of Wastewater at Xylem, formerly Goulds Pumps.

Greg was a member of the SCCA-Sports Car Club of America, member and past President of SWPA-Submersible Wastewater Pump Association, the Order of the Engineer, founder of Hogan Racing Team, President of Castle Heights Ski Association, Sunday night Over the Hill Hockey League, Goulds Pumps Twi-Lite Golf League and St. Stephen’s Church.
Greg loved Lacrosse, Hockey, Vintage Sports Cars, the Outdoors, Hiking, Skiing, Fishing, Golf and most of all his friends and family

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Sharon Sorrentino Hogan; daughters, Kayleigh Hogan of Houston, Texas and Emily Hogan of Geneva; mother-in-law, Mildred Sorrentino of Fayette; sister-in-laws, Sandy (Bud) Mitchell of Waterloo, Rosemary (Senator Michael) Nozzolio of Fayette; nieces, Dr. Megan Mitchell, Kristin Robinson and Erin Battistello; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Greg was predeceased besides his parents by father-in-law, Lewis J. Sorrentino
