Phelps; Mary Ellen Olschewske, age 72 of Phelps passed away on Tuesday August 27, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 2) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Thomas Mull will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilmot Cancer Center Oncology Department at Strong Memorial Hospital 601 Elmwood Ave. Rochester, NY 14642.

Mary Ellen was born on February 7, 1941 in Geneva the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Mary Margaret Fitzgerald Sullivan. She graduated from DeSales High School and retired after many years from Central Supply at Geneva General Hospital. Mary Ellen was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and was an avid New York Yankees fan.

Mary Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Gary J. Olschewske; her sons, Joseph Olschewske of Canandaigua, Joshua (Heather) Olschewske of Jacksonville, FL and John Olschewske of PA; grandchildren, the loves of her life, Quinn, Morgan and Tegan Olschewske, Brianna and Gabrielle Olschewske, Courtney Lindner Olschewske; many sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased besides her parents by her brothers, Daniel P. Sullivan and Jeremiah J. Sullivan.

The family would like to extend a sincere “ thank you” to the nursing staff on the 6th floor on the 1400 wing of Strong Memorial.
