Eugene R. Egbert

Geneva/ Eugene R. Egbert, 87 of 10 Goodall Terrace passed away on Tuesday May 21, 2013.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday (May 24) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (May 25) at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, and 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum.

Gene was born on October 1, 1925 in Geneva the son of the late William and Anna Lahr Egbert. He served in the United States Navy during World War ll and retired after many years from the City of Geneva’s Department of Public Works. Gene was a member of St. Francis Church, Winnek Post 396 American Legion, The Elks Club and the Finger Lakes Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Humphries Egbert, children; Eugene R. (Ramona) Egbert, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fl., Mary Ann ( Peter) Marron of Rochester, Karen ( Joe) Moses of Geneva, Sharon ( Jeff) Ferrari of Rochester, daughter-in-law; Pat Egbert of Fairport. 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brother; Dick Egbert of Geneva, sister; Frances Dunn of Sodus. Several nieces and nephews.


Gene was predeceased by his sons, Edward J. and Walter Egbert, brothers; Robert, William and Walter Egbert; sister; Helen Dewind.
